We’re Letmy — the ones on the night shift
When the sun goes off duty, somebody has to keep an eye on the front walk. That is the job we took.

Every house has a moment around dusk when it stops being easy to read. The step you never think about in daylight becomes the step you catch your toe on. The garden you spent Saturday in simply disappears. We started Letmy to give that half hour back — and the eight hours after it.
Solar made it possible to do that without an electrician. What it did not do by itself was make the light good. So we chase the parts that decide whether a solar light is still glowing at 3 a.m.: a panel big enough for a grey day, a cell with enough in it for a long winter night, a housing that shrugs off a hose, and a colour of light you would actually want by your door.
Then the storms taught us the night shift doesn’t stop at the porch. That is where our lanterns and flashlights came from: light for the kitchen table and the breaker panel when the whole street is dark.
